1st year meeting of FP7 project I3RES

Today and tomorrow, in Madrid, at Universidad Politecnica, first annual meeting of I3RES which deals with the design of a software platform to manage electrical micro-grids, a tool of possible use to DSOs and aggregators/service providers.  Here with me Giovanni Palmieri, a postdoc at UniSannio, who closely follows the development of the project, and Alessio Maffei, a young PhD student at UniSannio who delivered his first presentation in English, a good experience to start from, with a good result, which does not surprise me!

The Italian partners are UniSannio (which works on optimization algorithms) and KES (a UniSannio spin-off interested in the development of “smart city” software platforms); our Spanish colleagues comes from Inabensa (a large engineering company, coordinating partner), Tecnalia (a Bilbao-based research center working on software architecture and forecasting algorithms) and UPM, Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (working on software engineering); there are Estonian colleagues from SkeletonTech, a company developing electric storage systems; and the Norwegian partners NTE (an electric utility managing a demo site at Steinkjer, near Trondheim) and SINTEF (a research center here working on telecommunication issues).
